★★★Continuous Training Load (CTL) and Average Hours of Training Per week to achieve

Tristar Athletes, the chart below outlines potential CTL’s and how to determine what is the ~ required hours needed to achieve them.  Note that these peak CTL’s are achieved as a 40 day rolling average of these total training hours.

Example, you would need to have sustained 13-15 hours of steady training per week for 40days to achieve a CTL of “110”.

There are exceptions to the rules below - i.e. you can have a higher thresholds in the sport and overcome a lower CTL value.. though that is usually less the case.

Your coach will help you plan your total training stress load with your season plan so you are at peak performance when it matters the most. A good exercise is to think what a baseline or "skeleton" week of training hours looks like.  For example, consider what total training hours you have available and what you can do week in and week out with your lifestyle.  This calculation should include time for setting up training sessions as well as breakdown.

Use the chart below to estimate your training trajectory!
